Saving species combined with diminishing carbon emission

Wildlife everywhere in the world has to deal with fast growing pressure because of an overpopulated planet and an increasing demand for raw materials and agricultural area. Humans as a specie seem to have forgotten that we are part of nature and that with the ruin of nature our own survival threatens too.

With every hectare we transform from cattle farm into protected nature conservation area we bring space to endangered species such as black rhino (5.600 left), wild dog (6.600 left) and cheetah (7.100 left). At the same time the carbon emission will be diminished. It’s a win-win situation and an investment in the future of the Planet.

Our dream and goal

Tawana Nature Conservation bought in April 2022 two cattle farms in the southern part of the Kalahari with a size of 4.500 ha in total. The area of the two farms was renamed to Tawana. Tawana means in the local language Setswana lion cub. Our dream is to make the lion cub grow into a big lion(ess) and connect the Tawana area with other nature reserves like the Kgalagadi Transfortier Park. By creating a strong corridor between nature reserves we maintain a natural healthy population of wildlife by increasing the gene pools.
Kgalagadi has a size of 38.000 km2, is situated partly in South-Africa and partly in Botswana and is as the crow flies 150 km away from Tawana. So a long way to go to make our dream come true and it will take probably some generations.
The middle term goal of this project is to extend the Tawana area from 4.500 hectares now
to 20.000 hectares in 2030. With your support we can protect vulnerable species
from getting extinct and leave a better world for our children.

Tawana is not only steward of the acquired land but is also accountable for spending every donation to its goal: extending the area. On this website every quarter a statement will be published with a report of all generated income and a justification of the expenditure.
